Miraflores District
Miraflores is the tourist district where the vast majority of hotels, restaurants, bars and nightclubs are concentrated in Lima.
Among its main attractions is the Kennedy Park or also known as the «cats» park due to the number of kittens that live in it. In this park you can find artists who sell paintings, jewelry and some small food stalls. Generally at night you see some groups dancing salsa in small amphitheaters. We cannot fail to mention the nearby church of the Miraculous Virgin.
Another attraction is the recently renovated Calle San Ramón or also known as «Calle de las Pizzas» where you can find several restaurants, pubs, karaoke bars that fill the district’s night life and is visited by a large number of tourists.
Attached to the boardwalk and overlooking the Pacific Ocean is Larcomar. This shopping center is located at the end of Av. Larco and is also a place where you can buy souvenirs or have a coffee or dinner with awesome views of the sea.
Walking along the boardwalk very close to the shopping center we find the well-known Love Park where newlyweds go to take photos or couples swear eternal love. A little later on weekends you have the option of paragliding off the cliff and having a privileged view of Lima from the heights.
Another recommended option is to rent a bicycle and ride along the boardwalk which runs through 3 districts of Lima, starting in Magdalena del Mar and ending in Barranco.
We cannot ignore the nightlife of Miraflores, the vast majority of bars are concentrated in these 3 streets: Berlin, Francisco de Paula Camino and Manuel Bonilla. They are open until 3 am, although the party continues behind closed doors.
Museums in the district we can recommend the Amano private museum, the Huaca Pucllana site museum which has a very good restaurant, and if you want to know a little about the contemporary history of Peru you can visit the “Museo de La Memoria”.
On the beaches of Miraflores you can surf and if you are a beginner take classes every day at Makaha beach.
If you want to buy handcrafts, there are 3 large craft centers at the intersection of Av. Petit Thouars and Jr. Gonzáles Prada. Which open from 9am to 8.30pm.
